Secret LivesThose secrets that we keep. The skeletons that we want no one to find. That locked closet. That disgrace. That shame. That sin. That lie. That………..secret will be revealed. God will judge our hidden agendas, motives, actions, pretensions, sins, secrets,……….. Secrets revealed. How does that make you feel.? How does it make me feel? Vulnerable? Scared. Exposed. ……………….

Lord Jesus,

I confess my secret sins of,___________, _____________,… to you. I ask you to forgive me of my ways and heal me. You are my Redeemer. Lord, come into my heart. Reside in me. Seal me with your promise. Please come into my heart. Please help me to do better. Please make me new. Make me a “ride or die” for you and the things of you. In your name.  I pray and thank you. I thank you for your precious Holy Spirit that seals me. Amen.

I thank you Dear God for a new day. Another day to get this right is what you have given to me. Help me this day Heavenly Father. Be with me this day. Send me your mercies Heavenly Father. I can not do this by myself. You love me with an everlasting love. Send me provisions this day for you know my needs. You said that you would supply all my needs according to your riches and glory in Christ Jesus. Remember me, Dear God. Thank you in advance. In Jesus name. Amen.

Father,

We need to be soaked in prayer. I’m concerned about my safety, the safety of my loved ones, etc… I am a child of God, I not target practice. I am a child of God.  I am not a beating bag. I am a child of God. I am not an object of hate. I am here to be loved. God cover my loved ones. Cover us with the Blood of the Lamb.  Protect us. Bring justice for your people.  Our lives matter. Our lives matter. Black lives matter.  My life matters. “The prayers of the righteous  have great results.”  My spirit groans. It cries out to you Dear God. Send your Holy Angels to surround us, your people. Deliver us from the hand of the enemy. For your name sake, deliver us. Show us the error of our ways. We are hated but you are our Creator. When you made us you said, “It is good.” You said, ” Touch not my anointed and do my prophets no harm.” Vengeance is yours!  There is a time for peace and there is a time for war. Help us to know the difference. In Jesus name. Amen.

Father, I come before your presence with thanksgiving. I know the enemy is mad that I’ve given my my life to you. He’s doing everything in his power to destroy my joy, my mind, my reputation,…. Where there is confusion, there is no good thing. I need you. I’m so in need of your help Father God. Please give me wisdom Heavenly Father. Please put the words on my tongue so that I do not dishonor you when tested, tried,……….. Touch my mind dear God. Touch my spirit Dear God. Touch my body Dear God. Touch my hurt and my pain Dear God. Heal me of the infirmity of past hurts, lying tongues, ungodly traps, plots…………used by the enemy. Remember, that you said, “Touch not my anointed and do my prophets no harm.” Remember your word concerning me, Dear God. Help me and heal me Heavenly Father. You said, “Your thoughts towards me are of good and not of evil.” You said, “You love me with an everlasting love.” Remember me, Dear God, according to you word and loving kindness. In Jesus name. Amen.

I’ve experienced your protection, peace, favor, bountiful blessings, ……… I know that “You Are.” I know that You can do all things and I know that You will. The song says, ” If He did it before, He can do it again.  Same God right now. Same God back then.” Thank You for being my best friend. My Best Friend. Thank You. In Jesus name. Amen.

The internet has been full of jubilation and despair in the wake of the Supreme Court’s decision legalizing same-sex marriage across the US, and this is certainly true for Catholics as well. Some Catholics are rejoicing in this historic moment, seeing a major step forward for justice, human dignity, and mercy. Others are deeply disappointed, believing the Supreme Court has redefined marriage in a way that will undermine the family and human flourishing. For some Catholics, however, it’s a bit more complicated.

Two pieces caught my eye that reflect on the tensions some millennial Catholics feel when it comes to figuring out how to reconcile devotion to the Church and the love we have for our gay and lesbian brothers and sisters.
